DELRAY BEACH, FL (Boca Post) — Two shootings within hours of each other in Delray Beach on Saturday night leave 3 young men in the hospital with serious injuries.

1st shooting – 8:16 PM

At approximately 8:12 PM, Boca Post first reported about a shooting on the 100 block of SW 12th Ave.

Sources close to that shooting tell Boca Post that a 19-year-old was rushed to Delray Medical Center as trauma alert after first responders found that he was shot in the face. A 2nd victim was also transported as the result of a stroke that happened at the same time as the shooting. There was a large fire rescue and police presence visible near the area of 8th and Atlantic.

DBPD says that at 8 p.m., a man was shot in a car near the 1500-block of SW 3rd Court. He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The involved parties know each other and the shooting appears to have stemmed from an argument earlier in the day.

2nd shooting – 11:05 PM

Just hours later, at 11:05 PM, fire rescue and police responded to the area of 345 S. Congress Ave in Delray Beach, where they found two more gunshot victims. There they found a 27-year-old man who had been shot several times as well as a 26-year-old man with a single gunshot wound.

This second shooting was at or near the Delray Beach tri-rail station. Tri-Rail tells Boca Post that the station will remain closed on Sunday morning as Police continue to investigate the shooting.

DBPD says that at 11 p.m., three men were shot near the Tri-Rail Station at 345 S. Congress Avenue. The victims agreed to meet several people at the location. While meeting, an altercation ensued, which led to the shooting. Two victims were rushed to Delray Medical Center and are said to have non-life-threatening injuries. The 3rd victim is in critical condition.

A spokesperson for the Delray Beach Police Department reported that the two shootings are not related. No suspect information has been released at this time nor has DBPD confirmed whether or not any suspects are in custody.

Anyone with information about these crimes is asked to call Det. Anthony Sala at 561-243-67. You can remain anonymous.
