DELRAY BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A former employee of Hair Bar NYC has filed a civil lawsuit in Palm Beach County accusing multiple related salon entities and owner Beny Molayev of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, assault, battery, and negligent supervision.
The case, Patricia A. Conrad v. Hair Bar NYC Delray Beach Inc, Hair Bar NYC Parkland Inc, Benys Unisex Salon, Inc. d/b/a Hair Bar NYC and Hair Bar NYC Professional, Hair Bar NYC Franchise Corp, Beny Molayev LLC, and Beny Molayev, was filed April 10, 2026, in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in and for Palm Beach County, Florida, under Case No. 502026CA004110XXXAMB.
In the complaint, Patricia A. Conrad says she worked for the defendants beginning around 2020 as a hair stylist and operations manager in Delray Beach. The filing states Conrad is a Palm Beach County resident and alleges the defendant companies operated as joint or single employers. The complaint lists plaintiff’s attorneys William M. Julien and Olivia F. Povedano of William M. Julien, P.A., in Boynton Beach.
Conrad alleges that during her employment she was subjected to repeated verbal, emotional, and physical harassment by male employees and managers, including Molayev, and claims the conduct was directed at her because she is female and over 40. The allegations in the complaint have not been proven in court.
According to the complaint, the conduct described in the lawsuit allegedly happened regularly and often daily through the end of Conrad’s employment. The filing alleges repeated sexual comments, sexual jokes, unwanted touching, unwanted hugging, rubbing, brushing against her body, and other conduct that Conrad says was offensive and unwelcome. The complaint also claims Molayev made repeated sexual remarks to her, exposed himself, made sexual gestures, and on numerous occasions touched her without consent.
The lawsuit further claims Conrad complained to management numerous times, but the companies did not take corrective action. Instead, she alleges, she was terminated on or about Aug. 4, 2024, for what the complaint describes as pretextual reasons, in retaliation for complaining about the conduct and for refusing to go along with it.
The complaint says the defendants knew or should have known about the alleged workplace conduct and failed to investigate, supervise, discipline, or remove the employees involved. It also alleges the conduct happened at the workplace or while conducting company business and that managers and other employees were aware of it.
Conrad brings multiple claims against the corporate defendants, including intentional or reckless infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress, common law battery, civil assault, negligent supervision, negligent retention, sexual and age harassment or discrimination under the Florida Civil Rights Act, and retaliation under the same law.
She also brings separate claims against Molayev individually for intentional or reckless infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress, common law battery, and civil assault.
In the lawsuit, Conrad says she suffered lost wages, lost earning capacity, emotional and psychological harm, pain and suffering, and medical or psychological expenses. She seeks damages, attorney’s fees where authorized, punitive damages on certain counts, other relief the court deems appropriate, and a jury trial.
