DELRAY BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — 2 killed in high speed crash in Delray Beach on Monday evening.

According to the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office, a fatal accident between two vehicles resulted in multiple fatalities Monday evening in Delray Beach. PBSO and PBCFR arrived at the location about 9 p.m. at the 17900 block of South Military Trail near the Polo Club Shops entrance.

A southbound vehicle V-1 operated at high speed in the inner through lane before striking V-2 from behind while V-2 attempted a left turn into the shopping center.

The passenger side of V-2 received catastrophic damage when V-1 struck it while V-2 was traveling in the southbound inner lane. Both vehicles lost control after the collision and moved away from the road in a southwest direction.

The vehicle V-2 struck a concrete utility pole before it came to a complete stop. V-1 maintained its southbound direction until it stopped against a shrub line where its engine compartment caught fire.

All people inside V-2 lost their lives when the authorities declared them dead at the accident site. The two occupants of V-1 received severe injuries which required medical transport to Delray Medical Center.

The authorities remain active in their investigation of the accident while South Military Trail operated with complete road closure in both directions throughout the response period. The officials continue to work on notifying family members before releasing additional information about the incident.
