DEERFIELD BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — The City of Deerfield Beach is serving up some friendly competition with a coed pickleball tournament for players ages 40 and up on Saturday, December 6th.

The event will take place at the Dr. Leo J. Robb Jr. Memorial Gymnasium, located at 435 SW 2nd Street in Deerfield Beach. The first matches will start at 10 in the morning.

The tournament will follow a double-elimination system to find the champion among the 16 competing teams. According to event organizers, registration is open now and spots are limited — participation is first-come, first-served.

The team registration fee amounts to $30 and participants can register through the city's website or reach out to event coordinator Leandro Barbosa at 954-649-6781.

The city event aims to promote active recreation and community spirit among local adults because pickleball has become increasingly popular throughout South Florida.

The tournament will take place on indoor courts which protect the games from weather interference. Players must arrive on time with their top competitive equipment.
