A man in Deerfield Beach lost his life in a two car collision prompting an investigation, by Broward Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide detectives.

The crash happened near the intersection of Northwest 45th Avenue and West Hillsboro Boulevard intersection in Deerfield Beach at 6:52 p.m. on Monday, December 9th, 2024. BSO traffic homicide investigators rushed to investigate a collision, between two vehicles following a reported incident.

After looking into the incident it was found that Julio Mendes De Silva was, behind the wheel of a 2024 Toyota Camry heading west on West Hillsboro Boulevard when Madison Yates driving a 2020 Chevrolet Blazer made a turn into his lane.

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue arrived at the location. Took both drivers to Broward Health North for medical care, where De Silva was later pronounced dead.

The inquiry into the accident is still, in progress.
