Unidentified Person Struck By Train, Killed In Dania Beach

DANIA BEACH, FL (Boca Post) — An unidentified person was struck by an FEC train and killed on Monday evening.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian and an FEC train.

At approximately 9:48 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 16, Broward Regional Communications received a report of a crash involving an FEC train and a pedestrian in the area of Griffin Road and Federal Highway in Dania Beach. BSO deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded to the scene.

According to homicide investigators, the pedestrian walked onto the train tracks into the path of the oncoming train. The pedestrian was struck and was pronounced deceased on scene. The pedestrian has not yet been identified.

BSO’s Homicide and Crime Scene units responded to the incident and are continuing to investigate.
