UPDATE: Coral Springs Police Say Missing Juvenile Skylee Merino Found Near Atlanta, Unharmed

CORAL SPRINGS, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Coral Springs Police are asking for the public’s help as detectives continue investigating the disappearance of 15-year-old Skylee Merino, who was reported missing by her family on April 21, 2026.

The department said it has received an increase in requests and public concern about the investigation, including allegations that Skylee may be with an unknown male she met on Snapchat.

Coral Springs Police said detectives are working to identify that person.

“At this time, the Coral Springs Police Department has not received any information indicating that Skylee is in danger,” the department said in a public update.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Daniel Powers at 954-346-1223 or by email at [email protected].

The department also urged anyone who knows Skylee or may know where she is to come forward. Police said the priority is making sure she returns home safely to her family.

The update drew a strong response on Facebook, where many commenters expressed concern over Skylee’s age, the Snapchat allegation, and whether police should treat the case as more urgent. Others shared the post and said they were praying for her safe return. The comments reviewed by Boca Post show several residents questioning the department’s statement that it had not received information indicating Skylee was in danger.

Police have not announced an arrest, named a suspect, or released additional details about where Skylee may have last been seen.

Anyone with direct information is asked to contact Coral Springs Police.
