Today, Monday, Aug. 5, Broward Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officers (SROs) will participate in an active assailant training at Boyd H. Anderson High School in Lauderdale Lakes. The exercise is part of a training focused on preparedness and response. Sheriff Dr. Gregory Tony, Broward County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn and Broward County School Board Vice Chair Debra Hixon will address the media at 1 p.m. inside the media center in the main building. The training, which media will be allowed to view and record, will take place following the news conference.

DIRECTIONS:

To reach the main entrance at Boyd H. Anderson High School:

From the north, head south on N.W. 31st Avenue

Turn left on N.W. 44th Street

Turn right on N.W. 29th Avenue

Make a right into Gate 1

Go straight past the first parking lot on your right and turn into the roadway that leads to the front of the school. There will be parking in front of the main entrance for media.

From the south, head north on N.W. 31st Avenue

Turn right on N.W. 39th Street

Turn left on N.W. 29th Avenue

Make a left into Gate 1

Go straight past the first parking lot on your right and turn into the roadway that leads to the front of the school. There will be parking in front of the main entrance for media.

Per Broward County Public Schools, live shots must be done outside of the Boyd H. Anderson High School campus.

A BSO Public Information Officer will be on scene at approximately: 12:45 PM
