Trafficking 25 Migrants Land On Broward Beaches

Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, FL – Boca Post (BocaPost.com) — At least 25 migrants landed on Lauderdale-By-The-Sea beaches after disembarking from two different boats just a few miles away from each other on Sunday 12/19/21.

According to the US Border Patrol, they are investigating a suspected maritime smuggling events that occurred in the Fort Lauderdale area on 12/19/21. Broward Sheriff’s Office has also confirmed their involvement with the two incidents that started at around 0700 in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea.

The agencies reported that near Commercial Boulevard and A1A in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, a boat landed at the beach and migrants jumped out. According to witnesses, about 10 migrants exited the boat and just ran. Witnesses say they observed many of the migrants carrying bags.

A few hours later, jut up the street, near the 2100 block of Atlantic Boulevard, another board landed on the beach. When the 2nd boat landed, an estimated 15 migrants exited the boat and ran away from the area.

It is reported that multiple agencies were on scene including U.S. Border Patrol, Department of Homeland Security, and Broward Sheriff’s Office. Officials have reported that at least 9 migrants are in custody.
