BROWARD COUNTY, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — A Police chase that originated in Fort Lauderdale ended just south of Boca Raton on Wednesday.

FLPD spotted a vehicle wanted for aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer that occurred in the city of Miami back in August. The driver refused to stop and lead officers on a brief pursuit, before the driver ultimately bailed out of the vehicle. The driver was quickly taken into custody by our officers. Please contact Miami PD for more.

On August 26, 2023, Miami Police Tactical Robbery Unit attempted to conduct a traffic stop at the intersection of N.W. 7 Avenue and 18 Street on a maroon Hyundai Genesis for a traffic infraction. The driver who has since been identified as Demetrick Hicks, DOB 10/16/89 fled from detectives and intentionally struck a Miami Police Cruiser. Our detective was fortunately left unharmed.
