Detectives from the Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit are looking into a tragic crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian that happened Monday night in West Park. The incident occurred shortly after 10 p.m. on Sept. 29. Investigators report that 54-year-old Noel Martin was driving a 2018 Dodge Challenger eastbound in the 5500 block of Pembroke Road. At that moment, Cassandra Warner was crossing Pembroke Road from north to south within the designated crosswalk area, while the traffic light was green. Detectives stated that, for reasons still unknown, Warner entered the path of the oncoming car and was hit by the Dodge Challenger. BSO deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded, and Warner was pronounced dead at the scene. Currently, neither speed nor driver impairment is considered a factor in the fatal crash. The investigation is ongoing.
