At approximately 4:34 a.m., Broward County Regional Communications received reports of a residential fire at a duplex located near the 4300 block of Fourth Avenue in Deerfield Beach. Broward Sheriff’s Office district deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded. On scene, firefighters and deputies found the duplex engulfed in flames. Firefighters fought the residential fire until they extinguished the flames. Sadly, they found a woman deceased inside the duplex. BSO’s Homicide Unit and Crime Scene detectives responded to the scene and are currently conducting a death investigation. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal.
