BSO’s ICAC Task Force arrests a man from Broward County for attempting to engage in sexual activities with a minor. The suspect, identified as Nicholas Penaloca, 43 years old, was apprehended at a local apartment complex with incriminating items in his possession.

Despite his intentions, law enforcement intervened and arrested him on multiple serious charges. Earlier, on July 23rd, Penaloca engaged in explicit conversations with an undercover agent posing as a 13 year old girl on a dating app. Subsequently, he made inappropriate advances towards the fictitious minor and exchanged explicit photos before being taken into custody by Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives and deputies.

Penaloca had made similar requests for intimacy with the 13 year old girl on Wednesday, July 24th and Thursday, July 25th. On the morning of July 25th, he arrived at the previously arranged apartment complex with intentions of engaging in illicit activities with a minor. At that moment, members of BSO’s ICAC Task Force and V.I.P.E.R. Took him into custody.

Penaloca was apprehended on charges related to soliciting a minor for inappropriate conduct, misuse of communication devices, dissemination of harmful material to minors and traveling to meet a minor. He was then transported to BSO’s Main Jail for further processing.
