The Broward Sheriff’s Office Deerfield Beach Traffic Unit is looking into a hit-and-run incident that took place last month, resulting in serious injuries for two individuals. Detectives are sharing details about the vehicle involved in hopes that this information will lead to an arrest. Investigators report that at approximately 8:21 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, Broward County Regional Communications received calls about a hit-and-run collision between a car and two pedestrians near the 1500 block of East Hillsboro Boulevard in Deerfield Beach. BSO deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue were dispatched to the scene. The initial investigation indicated that the driver of a vehicle struck a man and a woman crossing Hillsboro Boulevard before fleeing the area. Both pedestrians were taken to a local hospital for medical care. According to investigators, the vehicle is thought to be a red SUV, possibly a Honda Fit. Detectives noted that the vehicle may have right-front damage.
