BOYNTON BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A free afternoon event in Boynton Beach will bring live reggae, family activities and local business promotions to Ocean Plaza this weekend.
The Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency is hosting the first installment of its Rock the Plaza series on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Ocean Plaza, 640 E. Ocean Avenue in Boynton Beach.
The event is free and open to the community.
Rock the Plaza is a traveling promotional concert series created to spotlight plazas within the Boynton Beach CRA area while encouraging residents and visitors to spend time at local restaurants, retailers, eateries and professional service businesses.
This installment will feature live music from Paul Anthony & the Reggae Souljahs, who are scheduled to perform throughout the afternoon. The event will also include face painting, games and “Business Bingo,” giving attendees a chance to win prizes while visiting businesses in the plaza.
Food and drinks will be offered through participating plaza businesses as part of the CRA’s local business support effort. Featured businesses include Bailey’s Blendz, Café Frankie’s, Scheurer’s Chocolate and Sushi Jo.
Free samples are also expected during the event from some of the featured businesses.
The CRA is also offering Boynton Beach Bucks incentives tied to participating plaza businesses. The program is designed to help customers try local businesses at a reduced rate while driving foot traffic to the plaza.
The event is part of the CRA’s broader effort to support small businesses and bring activity into redevelopment areas along the eastern edge of Boynton Beach. The agency’s work includes business promotional events, small business funding programs, affordable housing efforts and redevelopment projects within its 1,650-acre district.
Parking will be limited inside the plaza parking lots and along East Ocean Avenue. Additional parking will be available at the public parking lot at 115 N. Federal Highway.
Residents looking for a no-cost weekend activity can expect music, food, family-friendly programming and business promotions in one place. The event is also intended to give people a reason to walk through the plaza and visit businesses they may not normally stop into.
