In that piece, the outlet reported that a PBSO deputy was “apparently shot multiple times” around 5:10 p.m. in Boynton Beach and “found in his vehicle,” citing unnamed sources and stressing that details were unclear and subject to change. The site placed the scene on Water Course Way, just east of Jog Road and south of Gateway Boulevard, describing it as near the home of a law enforcement officer and noting that a nearby address was listed confidential in public records. The article also said at least one person was pronounced dead at the scene but did not identify who that person was or confirm any connection to a deputy.
Later Saturday night, BocaNewsNow updated the story to say PBSO had confirmed a deceased male was found in a vehicle after an altercation, while adding that the agency was “not confirming at this point that a deputy was injured.” The outlet nonetheless told readers its unnamed sources still backed the original reporting.
