BOYNTON BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — PBSO is finally saying something after one of their off-duty deputies shot and killed a man in unincorporated Boynton Beach on Saturday.

Deputies rolled out around 5:21 p.m. Saturday to Water Course Way for an altercation involving one of their own who wasn’t on duty at the time. They found a man — later identified as Jean Joseph, 61, from Greenacres — already dead when they arrived.

The deputy is on paid leave, standard protocol, but still a note when it happens. FDLE has the case now and says the investigation continues. More to come.
