BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Boca Raton drivers are being told to avoid the intersection of Camino Real and Federal Highway after traffic lights went out there Tuesday afternoon.
The Boca Raton Police Department sent a non-emergency traffic advisory saying the signals are out “in all directions” at Camino/Federal and asked motorists to seek an alternate route.
The alert was sent at 1:48 p.m. Tuesday, April 14.
The intersection is a major connector in central Boca Raton, carrying traffic between downtown, the beachside corridor, and nearby neighborhoods and businesses. With the lights out, drivers should expect delays and added congestion on surrounding streets as traffic reroutes.
Boca Raton Police did not provide a cause for the outage or an estimated time for restoration in the advisory.
What residents should know: if you normally travel through Camino Real at Federal Highway, plan to detour and allow extra time. Drivers approaching the area should slow down, watch for backups, and be prepared for changing traffic patterns as vehicles divert to other crossings.
Boca Raton Police is the agency issuing the advisory. No additional details were included in the alert.
Updates, including when the signals are restored, are expected to come through additional Boca Raton Police traffic advisories.
