BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Boca Raton Police sent a non-emergency traffic advisory Tuesday afternoon reporting southbound lane closures in the St. Andrews Road area near Glades Road.

The alert, issued at 4:20 p.m. EDT on March 18, said “SB lanes closed at St. Andrews/Glades - St. Andrews/Verde” and advised drivers to seek an alternate route.

The advisory did not include a reason for the closures, how many southbound lanes were affected, or how long the closures were expected to last.

The location described in the alert points to a busy Boca Raton corridor that connects residential neighborhoods, shopping and office areas, and major east-west travel via Glades Road. For drivers in Boca Raton and across Palm Beach County who use St. Andrews Road as a north-south route, the closure notice means southbound traffic may be forced to detour or reroute around the affected stretch.

Boca Raton Police is the agency issuing the advisory. The alert is labeled non-emergency and is intended as a traffic notice to the public.

What happens next will depend on when the southbound lanes reopen. Residents and commuters should watch for changing traffic patterns in the area, including backups approaching the St. Andrews and Glades intersection and along the southbound side of St. Andrews Road toward the Verde area referenced in the alert.

Drivers heading through the area were told to seek an alternate route.
