BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) — Boca Raton Police arrest a man from Lauderdale Lakes after allegedly pointing a gun at a resident of the 10X Living apartment complex in Boca Raton on Sunday evening.

Boca Raton Police responded to 10X Living, apartments located at 5500 N Military Trail in Boca Raton, on Sunday evening in response to an assault. There, officers found a male victim who said he was “attacked by a group of people in the lounge area of the apartment and one of the subjects threatened him with a gun”, according to the police report.

The arrest affidavit continues, “According to the victim, he was in the lounge area of his apartment center when he overheard his girlfriend yelling. The victim went to where his girlfriend was and observed a large group of people shouting at her. The victim then approached a subject who appeared to be the instigator of the argument, a black male with high dreads wearing a grey shirt with black pants. The suspect and the victim began yelling at each other when the victim advised that the suspect brandished a silver pistol from his waistband and stated, “you really want some of this”.

“The victim described the firearm to be a small silver pistol with a black grip. After brandishing the firearm, the victim then left the area and proceeded to call 9-1-1. The victim stated that he fled the scene because he believed that the suspect was going to kill him with the firearm. The victim last saw the suspect crossing the street onto the west side of Military Trl.”

“BRPD Officers were able to make contact with the suspect in the area of the San Marco Apartments (5555 N Military Trl). Post Miranda, the suspect was identified as Carl-Edson Abraham. Carl advised that he was at the apartment complex with his family when he was approached by an irate female (The victim’s girlfriend) in the pool area. Carl and the victim’s girlfriend began arguing until a physical altercation ensued while inside the lounge area. Carl did not mention any further information regarding the incident and did not wish to speak to BRPD. Carl never mentioned ever having possession of a firearm.”

“After speaking to both parties, a witness contacted BRPD and advised that she had captured a partial video of the incident on her cellphone. The video portrays Carl aggressively approaching the victim with what appeared to be a silver handgun. The video showed Carl withdrawing a silver handgun from his right side and showing it to the victim. The video then shows Carl handing the apparent firearm to a separate subject wearing a black jacket and black pants. The subject could not be located by BRPD.”

“Based on the above information Carl Abraham is found to be in violation of F.S.S. 784.021 (1) Assault with a deadly firearm after investigation revealed that he actually and intentionally threatened to do violence to the victim, coupled with an apparent ability to do so, and doing some act which creates a well-founded fear in such other person that such violence is imminent with a weapon. Carl was admitted to BRRH for preexisting conditions and non-related injuries. Arrest paperwork was transported to PBCJ.”

Carl Abraham missed his first appearance this morning as he is currently in the hospital for unknown reasons. Abraham is facing one count of “784.021(1A) AGGRAVATED ASSAULT WITH A FIREARM”.

Boca Raton Police refused to provide Boca Post with a video that may have captured the incident calling it “evidence in an ongoing investigation”.
