POLICE: Arrests Made In Organized Retail Theft At Apple Store In Town Center Mall

2 Arrested From NY Group Involved In November Shoplifting Spree.

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) — Two NY men are waking up in Palm Beach County Jail this morning following a felony arrest for many theft charges including one for a warrant from an incident that occurred in November.

In November, a group of 4 individuals was observed via CCTV entering the Apple store in Boca Town Center Mall allegedly acting in concert which led to the theft of over $3,540 dollars worth of Apple merchandise.

The video shows 2 of the suspects concealing large amounts of Apple Pencils down the front of their pants. One of the suspects was observed grabbing an empty Apple shopping bag and placing an Apple AirPod Pro into it. All 4 suspects left the store without providing the benefit of paying for the merchandise valued at $3,540.

When Apple employees noticed the merchandise was missing they called the Police. Boca Raton Police Department was notified and investigated the theft after the individuals had left the scene. Detectives later reviewed a video from Macy’s where they received the plate number of the vehicle the 4 suspects left in. Police then found that the vehicle was actually a rental car.

At the same time, Police learned that 3 suspects were arrested by Coral Springs Police Department for allegedly committing a similar theft at Best Buy in Coral Springs. The 4 suspects hit the Best Buy on 11/27/21 and were arrested by Coral Springs PD on 11/28/21 when they attempted to hit the store again.

As a result of their investigation, Boca Raton Police Department filed for a warrant for 3 suspects involved in the Apple Store theft. Two of the three are currently in custody facing those charges as well as several new theft charges.
