BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — A new mural will appear at Mizner Park Amphitheater to display the voices and memories and daily moments which form Boca Raton. The public reveal of Ode to Boca will take place on Tuesday November 25 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a scheduled speech at 6 p.m. The City of Boca Raton Public Art Boca program together with O Miami present this event as part of their Centennial celebration.

The Amphitheater stage doors feature a mural created by South Florida artist Brian Butler. The artist used local storytelling to create a large-scale artwork through the "Ode to Boca" civic poetry project which included five-line odes about Boca Raton connections.

The city used resident feedback on artist vision statements to choose Brian Butler for the commission and finalize the design.

The mural displays images which depict Boca Raton's historical development across one century and its regular community life. The artist Brian Butler uses his narrative approach to combine Boca Raton's historical moments with contemporary scenes which include a sunbather and a sea turtle and the drawbridge and boat and beach and city elements arranged in a soothing color scheme. The city created this artwork to be seen from a distance while providing intricate details that viewers can observe up close.

The Amphitheater provides an ideal location for the mural to become a downtown Boca Raton landmark. The artwork turns Mizner Park's famous landmark into a visual tribute which honors the shared cultural background of the community.

The public can park their vehicles at Mizner Park's public garages and find additional permitted street parking options in the area. The BocaConnect Circuit Shuttle provides transportation to the event while riders should use Plaza Real for their drop-off location.

The Ode to Boca program extends its activities throughout the entire Centennial year. The public can submit their work for evaluation to become part of upcoming interactive displays and installations. The program invites Boca Raton residents to describe their home experiences through written stories about people and places and ordinary moments.

The city's Public Art Boca program and O Miami provide complete details about the project including an ode submission process.
