BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — POORSTACY, a popular rapper from West Boca, whose real name was Carlito Milfort Jr., has died at age 26.

According to the Boca Raton Police Department, authorities responded to a call Saturday morning after a “medical emergency” at a Boca Raton hotel.

A hotel employee told media POORSTACY had checked in about 10 days earlier with a woman and a toddler.

He was taken by stretcher to a local hospital, where he later was pronounced deceased.

At this time, officials have not released an official cause of death. The medical examiner has not provided further comment, and police simply described the case as an “incident.”

POORSTACY had grown a following for blending emo-rap, punk rock, and heavy metal influences. He released two studio albums and two EPs, and earned broader notice for his feature on the soundtrack of the film Bill & Ted Face the Music — a soundtrack that went on to be nominated for a Grammy Award.

He collaborated heavily with Travis Barker, with whom he penned tracks including “Choose Life.” The pair’s work was widely regarded as some of his most notable.

Fans have taken to social media to express grief, post tributes and demand clarity on circumstances. Authorities say they are investigating — but for now the exact circumstances remain unknown.
