Boca Raton wakes up to a calm, comfortable stretch of weather that looks and feels like classic early February in South Florida. The sky stays mostly clear and the air stays mild along the I-95 corridor, from Glades Road down toward Yamato and out west toward Lyons Road.
Monday’s forecast is simple. Sunshine dominates. The high is expected to land near 73 degrees. Winds start out calm, then turn light out of the east by mid-morning, running about 5 to 8 mph. It is the kind of day where it warms up steadily once the sun gets going, then levels off in the afternoon without much drama.
The beach is the one place where the story changes.
Even with the calm weather over land, the surf remains dangerous. A rip current statement is in effect for Coastal Palm Beach County and Coastal Broward County, including Boca Raton. If you are out late near the Intracoastal or along the downtown waterfront, it is a sweatshirt kind of night, not cold, but noticeably cooler than daytime.
The broader pattern across South Florida stays stable early this week. Forecasters say surface high pressure and an upper-level ridge remain in control, keeping things calm. Some clouds may drift in off the Atlantic and slide over the east coast metro, but the setup does not support anything more than passing cloud cover.
Marine conditions are improving compared to recent days, but the Atlantic still has some leftover energy. Seas are expected to run 3 to 5 feet today, with occasional sets up to 6 feet offshore. Winds are light, around 5 knots out of the northeast. Intracoastal waters are expected to be smooth, which is good news for boaters and anyone running the inlet, but it does not cancel the rip current concern along the shoreline.
