Boca Raton Real Estate Agent Arrested For Dui – Tyler Standish

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) — A Boca Raton real estate agent has been arrested for DUI and, according to jail records released to Boca Post by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

Tyler Standish, 31, of the 23000 block of SW 54th Ave. in Boca Raton, has been arrested early Tuesday morning by the Boynton Beach Police Department. Boca Post has been notified that the charges filed include “DUI-UNLAW BLD ALCH – DUI INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS” and “RESIST OFFICER – REFUSE TO ACCEPT SIGN CITATION OR POST BOND”.

According to an arrest affidavit submitted by the Boynton Beach Police Department, Standish crashed his BMW SUV into a light pole. When officers responded to the scene where they found the BMW on its side, they suspected Standish has been drinking. Standish was said to be uncooperative with the DUI investigation and was arrested for DUI.

The officer’s narrative Boca Post obtained from the police report can be found below:

On 6/28/22 at approximately 0318 hours, I responded to 800 W Boynton Beach Blvd in reference to a single-vehicle accident that struck a light pole. Upon arrival, I observed a black BMW SUV bearing FL tag 65BQKN on its side. Outside of the vehicle, contact was made with the driver, Tyler Standish. Officer Scott conducted the crash investigation. Contact was also made with witness Scarly Guillaume who observed Standish exiting from the vehicle. Standish was the sole occupant of the vehicle. While making contact with Standish, I observed his eyes to be very glassy and every time he spoke to me, I could smell a strong odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage. The more Standish spoke, the stronger the odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage intensified. I asked Standish if he was injured and he told me that he was not.

The crash investigation had concluded and I began a DUI investigation. I then asked Standish where he was coming from and he told me he was at Elmos, a local bar in Boynton Beach. I asked Standish if he consumed any alcoholic beverages and he told me that he did. Standish told me that he had two corona beers. Standish understood his Miranda warnings.

I asked Standish if he would submit to Standardized Field Sobriety Exercises, which he refused to begin with. Standish told me that he did not have any injuries, disabilities, or issues with his eyesight.

I asked Standish multiple times if he would submit to Standardized Field Sobriety Exercises and he became uncooperative and argumentative. Standish appeared to want to
time pass by making conversation and trying to argue with me about my investigation. I then once again asked Standish if he would submit to Field Sobriety Exercises, and he once again would not answer my questions. I advised Standish of Taylor warnings multiple times and he would still talk and not answer my question. I allowed Standish multiple times to cooperate with my investigation, but he refused. I then asked one more time if he would submit to Field Sobriety Exercises and he once again failed to answer my questions.

Based on the totality of the circumstances, I placed Standish under arrest for DUI. Standish was transported to the BAT facility where a 20-minute observation was conducted. Standish refused to submit to a breath test. Standish was advised of implied consent; which he advised that he understood. Standish once again refused to submit to a breath test. Standish’s vehicle was towed by Becks towing. Standish was also charged with refusal to sign a criminal citation.

According to Florida DBPR, Standish has an active real estate sales associate license. Standish is a real estate agent with eXp Realty.

Standish was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail at 7:30 on Tuesday morning. Standish was later released without bond.
