BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) — Boca Raton Police tell Boca Post that they are investigating an armed robbery that occurred near Wendys early on Thursday morning.

The alleged robbery occurred near Wendy’s parking lot at 831 West Yamato Road in Boca Raton at approximately 2 AM on Thursday morning.

The Boca Raton Police Department has issued the following statement:

On Thursday, June 30, 2022, just after 2:00 a.m., Boca Raton Police responded to the parking lot of 831 W Yamato Road (Wendy’s) in reference to an armed robbery.

The victim was sitting in her vehicle waiting to pick up her son from work. The victim observed the suspect walking through the plaza and they both acknowledged each other by saying “Hi.” The suspect continued to walk back and forth through the plaza.

The suspect then approached the victim while her window was down and told her to get out of the vehicle. The victim refused and at that time, the suspect pointed a firearm at her and said, “I’ll shoot you.” The suspect then told the victim to give him her wallet and the victim refused. At some point, the suspect reached into the victim’s vehicle and grabbed her left arm in an unsuccessful attempt to remove her from the vehicle. The victim started screaming and at that time, the male fled northbound through the plaza.

The victim then exited her vehicle and ran to the Wendys door where employees assisted her and called the police. The victim was not injured.

The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 20-30 years of age, between 5’8”- 5’10” tall, with a medium build and well-groomed beard. The suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with white detail on the back, and dark pants. The area was searched and the suspect was not located.
