BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Boca Raton will stay sunny today with a high near 77 and a light northeast breeze around 9 to 11 mph. The air is noticeably drier, so skies should stay mostly clear and it will warm efficiently this afternoon. Tonight is mostly clear and cooler, with lows near 61 and winds going light to calm late. If you’re heading to the beach, use extra caution: a high risk of rip currents continues for the Atlantic beaches

Boca Raton’s weather pattern is in a quiet, “fair weather” mode this weekend, and the National Weather Service says the setup is dominated by high pressure parked over the Southeast U.S. That high pressure acts like a lid on the atmosphere, keeping clouds limited and making it hard for rain to develop.

One of the bigger changes noted in the latest forecast discussion is how dry the air has become. The overnight weather balloon data showed moisture dropping to very low levels for South Florida, especially above the lowest part of the atmosphere.

In plain terms: there just isn’t much fuel for clouds or showers today, so rain chances stay near zero. Winds are also easing compared to recent days.

The pressure difference across the region is weakening, so the northeast breeze should be modest, with lighter and more variable winds developing later today and this evening. With fewer clouds and lighter winds, temperatures will respond by warming up more efficiently.

Marine conditions are improving, but the Atlantic remains choppy early today. A Small Craft Advisory is in effect this morning for the coastal waters off Palm Beach and Broward, and seas are still running about 3 to 5 feet (occasionally higher) with north winds around 10 to 15 knots.

Conditions ease tonight into Sunday with lower seas and lighter winds. For Boca Raton’s beaches, the bigger issue is safety in the surf: an elevated north to northeast swell is keeping a high rip current risk in place for the Atlantic beaches.

Even with sunny skies, the water can be deceptively dangerous—swim near lifeguards and avoid entering the ocean if you’re not a strong swimmer.

Current Advisories / Watches / Warnings

  • High Rip Current Risk through Sunday evening for FLZ168.
  • Small Craft Advisory until 8 AM EDT this morning for AMZ650-651-670-671.

7 Day Outlook

  • Saturday (Mar 21): Sunny and dry with a high near 77. Northeast breeze around 9–11 mph. Beachgoers should note a high rip current risk along the Atlantic beaches.
  • Sunday: Sunny and a touch warmer, high near 79. Light winds turn easterly during the afternoon. Great outdoor weather, but continue to use caution in the surf.
  • Monday: Mostly sunny and warmer with a high near 81. Light morning west wind shifts to an afternoon sea breeze. Dry air keeps rain chances very low.
  • Tuesday: Sunny with a high near 81. Light northwest wind becomes easterly later. Mild morning, warm afternoon; overall a quiet day with little cloud cover.
  • Wednesday: Sunny and warm near 80 with a light southeast breeze increasing to 5–10 mph. A weak front stays mainly north, so Boca Raton remains mostly dry.
  • Thursday: Mostly sunny and warmer, high near 80 with a mild night near 69. Any midweek front influence looks limited locally, keeping rain chances low for now.
  • Friday: Sunny and warm again, high near 80, with a continued warming trend possible into the upper 80s region-wide. Dry conditions likely continue to end the week.
