Today's Weather - Tuesday, April 28, 2026

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Boca Raton stays sunny today with a high near 82 and a steady northeast breeze. Tonight is mostly clear and mild, near 73. Wednesday remains sunny and a touch warmer, near 84, as winds gradually turn more from the southeast. The main local concern is the surf: rip current risk is elevated along the Atlantic beaches, with Palm Beach County under a High Rip Current Risk through Thursday evening

Boca Raton is locked into a quiet, sunny pattern today and Wednesday, and the National Weather Service says the atmosphere is being dominated by a strong “lid” of high pressure aloft. In plain terms, that setup encourages sinking air, which makes it harder for clouds to build and keeps rain chances very low.

At the surface, another area of high pressure is sliding in from the north today, then settling offshore in the Atlantic on Wednesday. That keeps an onshore breeze in place—northeast today, then gradually more southeast Wednesday.

For Boca, that usually means comfortable mornings, bright afternoons, and a little extra humidity near the coast, but not much in the way of showers. High temperatures today should top out around 82 along the immediate coast, with mid 80s more common Wednesday.

Inland areas across South Florida run hotter than the beaches this week, and the broader forecast trend points to above-normal warmth continuing into late week. From Thursday into Saturday, winds are expected to turn more southerly to southwesterly as a weakening front stalls well north of South Florida.

For boaters and beachgoers near Boca Raton, conditions stay manageable but not flat. Today brings northeast winds around 10 knots with Atlantic seas 3 to 5 feet, occasionally up to 6 feet, driven by lingering northeasterly swell.

Seas ease a bit Wednesday to 2 to 4 feet (occasional 5 feet) as winds turn southeast 5 to 10 knots. Late week, winds trend more southerly and strengthen—especially Friday into Saturday—bringing a choppier Intracoastal and rougher nearshore conditions at times.

Along the coast, the onshore component early in the week plus swell supports a higher rip current threat, so use extra caution in the surf and swim near lifeguards when available.
