BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Boca Raton starts the day warm and mostly dry, with a small chance of a brief shower before early afternoon. Expect mostly sunny skies and a high near 82 with an east breeze. Tonight stays partly cloudy and mild, near 73. Beachgoers should use extra caution in the surf, with a moderate rip current risk continuing along the Atlantic beaches
South Florida’s weather pattern stays on the quiet side today and Saturday, and the National Weather Service in Miami describes it as a “benign” setup driven by high pressure parked over the Gulf and western Atlantic. In plain terms, that high pressure helps keep the atmosphere stable and limits widespread rain, which is why Boca Raton’s forecast remains mostly sunny with only a 20% chance of showers today.
Even with the overall dry pattern, the AFD notes a slow increase in low-level moisture compared to the last couple of days. That matters because it can be just enough to spark a few “nuisance” showers—typically brief, hit-or-miss showers that form over the Atlantic waters and then brush the immediate coast as the sea breeze develops.
That’s why rain chances were nudged up into the 15–20% range near the east coast. Early this morning, very light winds and added moisture could also allow patchy fog to form inland.
Boca Raton is less favored than interior areas, but if you’re commuting from farther west, be alert for localized reduced visibility around sunrise. Temperatures remain warm for mid-April.
For Boca Raton and nearby Atlantic waters (Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach), east winds run about 10–15 knots today with seas around 2 feet, creating a moderate chop on the Intracoastal. Conditions stay fairly manageable through the weekend with seas generally near 2 feet and lighter winds at times Sunday.
The bigger marine concern arrives early next week: winds turn north to northeast and strengthen Monday into Tuesday, with seas building rapidly (potentially hazardous for small craft). At the beach, onshore flow supports a moderate rip current risk along the Atlantic coast through at least Saturday—swim near lifeguards and avoid venturing out alone.
