Today's Weather - Tuesday, May 5, 2026

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Tuesday, May 5, 2026 BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Boca Raton gets a brighter, drier day overall, with only a small chance of a brief shower or thunderstorm mainly this morning. Highs top out near 83-84 degrees with an east breeze around 8–11 mph, keeping the immediate coast a bit cooler than inland spots. Tonight stays warm and partly cloudy, with lows near 74 and only a very low chance of a leftover shower early. The beach hazard is the headline: a high rip current risk continues for Palm Beach County beaches today

South Florida’s weather is settling down today as the weak boundary that has been hanging around the Keys starts to fade farther south. That leftover “line” in the atmosphere helped keep a few overnight showers going in the region, but the National Weather Service expects it to weaken through the day, allowing more sunshine than we’ve seen the past couple of mornings.

For Boca Raton, that means most neighborhoods should stay dry, but the forecast still keeps a low-end chance (around 20%) for a quick shower or isolated thunderstorm before late morning. If something pops up, it’s most likely along the east coast where the onshore breeze can focus a brief shower.

Outside of that, plan on a mostly sunny day with a coastal high near the low-to-mid 80s. The bigger shift arrives midweek as high pressure takes control and a strengthening ridge aloft builds in.

In plain terms: sinking air and drier air overhead make it harder for clouds and storms to grow, so Wednesday and Thursday look mainly sunny and quiet. The tradeoff is heat.

Atlantic boating conditions improve today as winds ease. Expect east winds around 10 knots with seas 2–4 feet (occasionally near 5 feet) offshore from Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach, and light chop on the Intracoastal.

A few morning showers or a stray thunderstorm are possible, with locally higher winds and seas near any storm. Beachgoers should be especially cautious: Palm Beach County beaches remain under a high rip current risk today, with the threat expected to slowly ease by midweek.

If you’re swimming, stay near lifeguards and avoid entering the water alone.
