BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Boca Raton will stay on the cool side today with lots of clouds, a brisk north wind, and a 50% chance of showers mainly after late morning. Highs top out near 71, and it will feel cooler at times thanks to gusts around 20–25 mph. A few light showers could linger into tonight, with lows near 63 and continued breezy conditions. Beachgoers should take the high rip current risk seriously through at least Thursday

South Florida remains locked in a cooler, unsettled setup today as a weather boundary sits just south of the region while a broad dip in the jet stream over the eastern U.S. keeps pushing small disturbances through.

For Boca Raton, that translates to a stubborn deck of low clouds and on-and-off light showers rather than a steady rain. The National Weather Service notes that the deeper moisture is focused farther south, which is why rainfall totals are expected to stay modest overall.

Locally, the bigger story is the wind and the cooler-than-normal temperatures. A brisk northerly breeze continues today, helping hold afternoon highs in the upper 60s to low 70s.

The point forecast for Boca Raton calls for a high near 71 with north winds around 14–16 mph and gusts up to about 23 mph. Showers are most likely after 11 a.m., and any rainfall should be light, with new amounts generally under a tenth of an inch.

Boaters and beachgoers should plan for rougher conditions through at least Thursday evening. The Atlantic waters off Palm Beach County remain under a Small Craft Advisory, with northeast winds around 20–25 knots today and seas 5–8 feet (occasionally higher), building to 6–9 feet tonight.

The Intracoastal will be choppy to rough in exposed areas, especially tonight and Thursday. A few showers are possible over the waters, with a slight chance of a thunderstorm late today.

Along the Boca Raton coastline, the elevated north-to-northeast swell supports a high rip current risk through at least Thursday—swim near lifeguards and avoid entering the surf if you’re not a strong swimmer.
