BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Monday, March 2, 2026 BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Breezy east winds will be a big part of the forecast today, keeping it comfortable but also making the beach and nearshore waters rougher. Expect mostly sunny skies overall, with a few quick-hitting showers moving in off the Atlantic at times and a low-end chance of a thunderstorm. Highs top out near 78 in Boca Raton, with winds gusting around 20 mph. Tonight stays mild near 69 with a few showers possible, mainly late evening into the overnight

South Florida is settling into a familiar early-week pattern: leftover moisture is still hanging around the region, while high pressure builds over the eastern U.S. That setup tightens the pressure difference over our area and turns the wind more out of the northeast and east, increasing through the day.

For Boca Raton, that means a noticeably breezy onshore flow that can push quick, coastal showers inland from time to time. The atmosphere doesn’t have a strong “trigger” to organize widespread rain today, so most neighborhoods will stay dry for long stretches.

Still, with enough moisture in place, a few passing showers are likely near the coast, especially at times when bands of clouds ride in on the wind. The National Weather Service keeps rain chances around 30% today, with a slight chance lingering into the late afternoon and evening.

Thunderstorm coverage should be limited, but it’s not zero. The forecast discussion notes that a stray storm could pop up, particularly over the warmer Gulf Stream waters, and then drift toward the coast.

Boaters and beachgoers should plan for a rougher Atlantic this week. Winds run easterly around 15 to 20 knots today and tonight, keeping seas about 3 to 5 feet, occasionally up to 6 feet offshore.

The Intracoastal will be choppy in exposed areas, especially where the wind has a long fetch. The marine forecast highlights “small craft should exercise caution,” and the broader forecast discussion notes small-craft-advisory-type conditions may develop over the outer Atlantic waters.

For the beach, the onshore flow supports a high rip current risk along Atlantic beaches, so swim near lifeguards and avoid venturing out alone.

Current Advisories / Watches / Warnings

  • High Rip Current Risk from 10 AM EST Monday through Wednesday evening for Southeast Florida Atlantic beaches (FLZ168-172-173).
  • Rip Current Statement (Boca Raton area).
  • Small Craft Should Exercise Caution for Atlantic waters from Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach (out 20 NM and 20-60 NM).

7 Day Outlook

  • Monday: Mostly sunny and breezy with east winds 10–14 mph, gusts near 21 mph. A few quick showers possible; an isolated thunderstorm can’t be ruled out. High near 78.
  • Tuesday: Similar setup—mostly sunny, breezy onshore flow, and only spotty showers during the day with a slightly higher chance late. High near 78; showers/storms possible Tuesday night.
  • Wednesday: Warm and breezy with a few coastal showers developing mainly after midday. High near 79. Beach conditions remain hazardous with a continued high rip current risk.
  • Thursday: Mostly sunny with a passing shower or two, especially in the afternoon. East winds stay up, keeping the coast choppy. High near 80; mild night near 71.
  • Friday: A few more showers possible, with the best chance for a shower or thunderstorm after lunchtime. Still breezy from the east. High near 80; clouds increase at night.
  • Saturday: Partly sunny with a higher coverage of showers at times (around 40%). Temperatures hold near 79, and the onshore breeze continues to favor coastal rain bands.
  • Sunday: Partly sunny with scattered showers possible (around 40%). High near 79. Expect continued onshore flow, so plan for periodic clouds and brief downpours rather than all-day rain.

Boca Raton Weather stays breezy and warm today with spotty coastal showers and a high rip current risk along Atlantic beaches.
