BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Boca Raton will be partly sunny and breezy today with a 20% chance of a quick shower, mainly near the coast. Highs top out near 78, with northeast winds around 18 mph and gusts up to about 26 mph. Tonight stays breezy and mostly cloudy with a low near 69 and a small chance of a passing shower. Beach conditions remain dangerous with a high rip current risk, and boating conditions are hazardous with rough seas offshore

Today’s weather in Boca Raton is being driven by a familiar spring setup: strong high pressure building in while the last of a front slips farther away from South Florida. The National Weather Service notes an upper-level disturbance moving off the Southeast U.S.

coast, which helps push that boundary south and allows more stable air to take over. Even with that stabilizing trend, the atmosphere isn’t completely dry near the ground.

The forecast discussion highlights plenty of low-level moisture lingering, which is why Boca still carries a small (around 20%) chance of scattered, fast-moving showers today and again tonight. Most neighborhoods will stay dry, but a brief coastal shower can still pop up and move through quickly.

The bigger impact is the wind. Gusty east-northeast winds remain in place through the weekend, with frequent coastal gusts in the 20–30 mph range.

Boaters and beachgoers should plan around hazardous conditions. The NWS calls for northeast winds around 20–25 knots with higher gusts, keeping the Atlantic choppy to rough.

Seas off the Boca Raton area run about 6–9 feet today (occasionally higher), with rough conditions even in exposed Intracoastal areas. A Small Craft Advisory is in effect for the local Atlantic waters through Monday morning, and the broader forecast discussion suggests hazardous Atlantic conditions may linger into early next week.

Along the coast, the persistent onshore flow supports dangerous surf and a high rip current risk through the weekend—use guarded beaches, and avoid swimming alone or near inlets.
