BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — A Boca Raton man is jailed after displaying a firearm to a car salesman in Delray Beach.

According to a police report, Delray Beach Police Officers responded to the Grieco Chevrolet dealership just after 1 PM on  June 30th, 2024, in reference to a disturbance.  The Sales Manager at Greico, advised responding officers that a white male described to have bleach blonde hair, wearing a black tank top and red shorts, had a gun wrapped in a towel and placed it on the salesman’s desk.

Officers quickly located the suspect, standing along the entrance to the business and holding a large bag. The Suspect was detained and later positively identified as Thomas Harold Woltz. Sgt McCabe asked Woltz if he had any weapons. Woltz
advised Sgt. McCabe that he had an unloaded firearm in his bag.

Woltz was reportedly in the corner of business and asked for a salesman and to speak to him. Woltz told the salesman that he wants to look at five different cars and that he has a 500-credit score and has a $5,000 down payment. As the salesperson went to run
Woltz’s credit, he noticed that Woltz gave him three fake phone numbers, and he did not have a Driver’s License with him. Woltz verbally provided the salesperson with his Delaware Driver’s License Number.

Woltz then showed him a black handgun and stated that he was an Ex-FBI Agent, so he was able to carry the gun and stated that he better get a good deal on the car.

The salesperson later told Police that when Woltz showed the firearm, he felt intimidated although Woltz did not make any threats with the handgun.

Officers searched Woltz’s bag and located a black Remington .380 handgun in his bag. The firearm was not loaded. Officers quickly learned that Woltz is a convicted of Grand Theft Auto (Felony) on 8/22/2022.

Woltz was arrested and charged with two felonies, 790.23(1e) Felon In Possession Of Firearm and 790.10 Improper Exhibition Of Dangerous Weapon Or Firearms.
