Fay Averkiou Arrested Again For Battery On 65+

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) — Fay Averkiou of Boca Raton has been arrested and charged with several felonies, according to jail records released to Boca Post by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

Fay Averkiou , 56, of the 200 block of Palmetto Park Road in Boca Raton, has been arrested by the Boca Raton Police Department on Thursday evening. Boca Post has been notified that the felony charges include two counts of battery on a person 65 years or older and one count of robbery by sudden snatching.

According to the Boca Raton Police Department, officers responded to a disturbance where they spoke to several witnesses and alleged victims. An elderly couple who lives next door to Fay Averkiou told officers that Fay was banging on the their wall which prompted the couple to confront Fay. During the confrontation, the couple says that Averkiou rushed the elderly man and repeatedly punched him.

Officers say that when Averkiou’s mother, Kika Averkiou, tried to break up the scuffle, Fay pushed her to the ground. Several witnesses tried to assist by providing a cell phone to record the incident. Fay then snatched that same phone from the wife’s hands and then punched her repeatedly.

When asked by the Police, Kika denied being pushed by Fay. Kika claimed she didn’t know who pushed her and said maybe she fell, to spite what witnesses told Police. Fay denied all allegations. Fay told Police she didn’t touch anyone and she never grabbed anyone’s phone, to spite allegations made by 2 victims and 2 independent witnesses.

This is not the first time Averkiou has been arrested for battery on an elderly person. Just two years ago she was arrested and charged with battery on a person 65 or older by the Delray Beach Police Department. In that case, Police say that witnesses observed Averkiou kick, punch, and scream at her then 83-year-old mother. That case was later dropped by the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s office, citing “Insufficient evidence exists to prove the charge beyond a reasonable doubt due to an uncooperative victim and lack of independent evidence”.

Averkiou was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail at 5:13 PM on Thursday, September 29th, 2022. A judge ordered that Averkiou have no contact with the victim or the witness in the case and set her bond at $3,000.
