Alert Severe Thunderstorm Watch For Boca Raton And Surrounding Areas

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) — The National Weather Service has issued a severe weather warning which will remain in effect until 8 PM EST.

The National Weather Service has issued the following update just after 2 PM:

Thunderstorms: Strong to severe thunderstorms may develop today,
mainly later this afternoon and evening over primarily inland areas
of South Florida. Primary impacts from the strongest storms will be
strong to locally damaging wind gusts, hail, lightning, and locally
heavy rainfall

Wind: Strong to severe thunderstorms could produce strong to locally
damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph later this afternoon and evening.

Hail: Strong to severe thunderstorms could produce hail up to the
size of quarters later this afternoon and evening.

Tornadoes: An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out in the strongest
thunderstorms later this afternoon and evening.
