Originally reported by Boca Post

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) — A Boca Raton man is in trouble for another incident where he allegedly assaulted a man with his belt at a local Publix.

Anthony John Grillo, a 61-year-old man who lives on NW 12th Ave in Boca Raton, has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon for an incident that occurred at the Publix on 3003 Yamato Road in Boca Raton.

According to an arrest report submitted by Boca Police Department, the victim called the police after he was threatened by Grillo. The victim reports that he asked an irate male, who was later identified as Anthony Grillo, to watch his language as there were children around. Grillo then turned his attention to the victim.

According to the report, Grillo was witnessed taking off his belt and then charging toward the victim with the buckle end facing outward. The victim felt that if the belt would have made contact with him he would have sustained substantial injuries.

While being detained, Grillo admitted that he took off his belt; however, he claims he did it so as to not get into trouble. Grillo referenced his recent arrest for using his belt as a weapon toward a security guard in the Apple Store at the Boca Town Center Mall just 2 weeks ago. Grillo reiterated that he assaulted the victim because he wasn’t minding his own business.

Grillo was arrested and is still in custody for: 784.021 1A (FT)AGGRAV ASSLT – WEAPON – W DEADLY WEAPON WITHOUT INTENT TO KILL. Grillo has a bond set for $50,000. One of the court orders is that Grillo is not to have any weapons.
