FLORIDA — A Florida Silver Alert has been issued for an 81-year-old woman reported missing from Spring Hill in Hernando County, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
FDLE identified the missing woman as Miriam Marrero, 81. She is described as White-Hispanic, with brown hair and brown eyes. FDLE listed her height as 5 feet, 3 inches and her weight as 164 pounds.
The last known area provided by FDLE is Spring Hill in Hernando County. FDLE also released vehicle information tied to the alert: a 2016 Jeep Cherokee with a Florida tag, Z8UBP.
Silver Alerts are used to help locate missing older adults, and the information is distributed statewide so the public and law enforcement agencies can watch for the person and any associated vehicle. For South Florida residents, it means the alert can extend beyond the Tampa Bay area and into other parts of the state, including major highways and travel corridors.
Authority for the alert sits with FDLE, which issues the statewide notice, and the local investigation is handled by the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office at 352-754-6850 or call 911.
Residents who think they have seen Marrero or the listed Jeep Cherokee are asked to report what they know directly to law enforcement. The key details to watch for are the vehicle description, the Florida tag Z8UBP, and the last known area of Spring Hill in Hernando County.
