Canceled – Silver Alert Issued for Missing 87-year-old Man Last Seen in Ocala

FDLE issued a Florida Silver Alert for an 87-year-old man reported missing from Ocala in Marion County.

FLORIDA (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A Florida Silver Alert has been issued for an 87-year-old man reported missing from Ocala, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

FDLE identified the missing person as Fredesdante Mendoza. He is 87, male, Asian, with gray hair and brown eyes. FDLE lists him as 5 feet, 3 inches tall and about 130 pounds.

The last known area provided by FDLE is Ocala in Marion County.

Silver Alerts are used to help locate missing older adults, and the public is asked to watch for the person and report information to law enforcement. In this case, FDLE directed anyone with information to contact the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

Authority for the search and follow-up sits with the Marion County Sheriff's Office, with FDLE issuing the statewide alert and distributing the identifying information.

Residents who may travel through Marion County, or who have contacts in the Ocala area, should keep the description in mind and report tips promptly. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Marion County Sheriff's Office at 352-732-9111 or call 911.
