LANTANA, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A Lake Worth woman was killed Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash on Lantana Road, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash happened at 11:05 a.m. on May 24, 2026, in the 3100 block of Lantana Road in Lantana, PBSO said.
Investigators identified the driver who died as Marbelia Espinoza, 52, of Lake Worth. She was driving a 2014 Nissan Sentra, according to the PBSO crash report.
PBSO said Jermane Taylor, 20, of Lake Worth, was driving a 2020 BMW 330i. A passenger in the BMW, identified in the report as Lourdes Matute, 19, of West Palm Beach, was also listed in the crash report.
According to PBSO, Espinoza was traveling west in the 3000 block of Lantana Road. Taylor was traveling east in the same block.
Investigators said Espinoza attempted to turn left onto an access road for a plaza, pulling into the path of the BMW. The front of the BMW struck the passenger side of the Nissan, near the B-pillar area, according to the report.
Both vehicles were redirected southeast and left the south side of the roadway, PBSO said. The Nissan came to final rest facing south in a grass area. The BMW came to final rest facing east on the south sidewalk.
Espinoza was pronounced dead at the scene. PBSO said next of kin had been notified.
Taylor and Matute were both listed with minor injuries in the report.
The PBSO report listed charges as pending, but did not list any filed charges or arrests. The report did not identify the crash as a hit-and-run, and no fleeing vehicle information was included.
PBSO’s Traffic Division is investigating.
