Today's Weather - Thursday, April 30, 2026

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Sunshine dominates today with a warm afternoon high near 87 and a light west breeze turning southerly later. It stays dry, but the heat will feel more noticeable each afternoon through Saturday. Tonight is partly cloudy and mild, near 71, with a few gusts possible. Beachgoers should keep rip currents in mind along the Atlantic coast, especially north toward Palm Beach County

Boca Raton is set up for a classic late-April stretch of dry, sunny weather today and Friday, with temperatures running above normal. The National Weather Service notes weak high pressure nearby and dry air aloft helping keep clouds limited and rain chances near zero.

With winds starting light and then turning more southerly later today, the Atlantic sea breeze is expected to stay “pinned” closer to the coast, which helps the east coast metro warm efficiently during the afternoon. Highs today and Friday should land in the upper 80s around Boca Raton, with inland areas running even hotter.

While it’s not record territory, it’s still several degrees above typical late-April highs, and the Heat Risk outlook is trending upward heading into the weekend. Saturday is the day to watch for the most uncomfortable heat.

Forecast guidance discussed in the AFD points to stronger south-to-southwest winds pulling in warmer, more humid air, and that combination can push heat index values into the low 100s for a few hours. If you have outdoor plans, plan extra water and shade breaks, and check on anyone sensitive to heat.

For the Boca Raton coastal waters (Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach), winds run around 10 knots today, turning southerly late, with seas generally 2 to 4 feet (occasionally up to 5 feet). Tonight brings a bump in wind to 15–20 knots before easing after midnight, which can make the Intracoastal choppy at times.

Friday stays manageable with 2–3 foot seas, but southerly winds strengthen again Saturday. By Sunday into Monday, showers and thunderstorms become more likely, and storms can produce sudden gusts and locally higher seas.

Rip current risk remains a concern along the Atlantic beaches, especially north of Boca Raton.
