PBSO says that a 2018 Ford fusion driven by Hidegalde Perez, 48, of Lake Worth Beach, was struck and killed by a Brightline Train near the 1200 block of 12th Ave. at about 4PM.

Perez allegedly drove around the safety arm and in to the path of the Brightline train. The train then struck Perez’s vehicle which propelled it in to a metal fence and a power pole where it rested on it’s passenger side. Perez was found deceased at the scene. Authorities report that she was not wearing her seatbelt.

LAKE WORTH BEACH, FL (Boca Post) — Authorities tell us that at least 1 person is dead tonight after a Brightline Train collides with a vehicle in Lake Worth Beach.

At approximately 4:07PM on February 13th, 2022, a Brightline Train collided with a vehicle. PBSO tells us that the accident occurred near 17th Ave and F Street in Lake Worth Beach and they are confirming at least one casualty at the moment.

Vehicle homicide investigators were headed to the scene at 5:30PM.
