On Tuesday a deputy, from the Broward Sheriff’s Office was arrested, charged with aggravated battery and criminal mischief.

BSO Special Victims Unit detectives say that at 7 a.m. On November 4 the Broward County Regional Communications Center received a report of a domestic disturbance in North Lauderdale. Deputies responded, made contact, with Randall Saintilus and the pregnant female victim and learned that a verbal and physical clash had erupted over Saintilus’s infidelity. Their investigation later revealed that Saintilus physically forced the woman down a staircase resulting in an injury.

Detectives also uncovered that Saintibas had, at a time smashed the victim’s phone and witnesses recounted earlier instances of domestic abuse that Saintibas inflicted on the victim. The investigation is still underway.

Saintilus was taken into custody on an aggravated‑battery count for assaulting a victim he either knew—or should have known—was pregnant, alongside a charge. He was subsequently booked at the Broward Main Jail.

“There’s no tolerance, for domestic violence and it’s vital that survivors understand that no one has the right to harm them " Broward Sheriff Dr. Gregory Tony said. "I want anyone facing abuse to recognize that help is out there and that they don’t have to endure in silence. If you’re in danger please call 911 for assistance.”

Saintilus entered the ranks of BSO on July 30 2018. Now remains on an unpaid administrative investigative leave.

Domestic abuse survivors might also consider reaching BSO Victim Services on 954‑321‑4200 dialing Women in Distress at 954‑761‑1133 or contacting the Florida Domestic Violence Hotline via 1‑800‑500‑1119.
