DELRAY BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — The Delray Beach Police Department reached a major achievement when it received its third Excelsior Award from the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA) which honors agencies that fulfill professional excellence standards.

The department announced this week that their officers and staff members received the recognition because of their daily dedication and integrity and hard work.

The department created this award to recognize law enforcement personnel through the highest honor because it celebrates the daily commitment of all police officers who safeguard our city.

The Excelsior designation exists for law enforcement agencies which achieve five consecutive re-accreditation success without any conditions to demonstrate their dedication to policing excellence.

The team expressed their appreciation to Accreditation Manager Jennifer Rivera because she provided essential leadership and precise attention to detail which supported the department throughout their challenging review process.

The department stated that accreditation matters to our community because it enables us to deliver services more efficiently which helps us prevent and control crime better. The program establishes trust between department staff and citizens through its open methods which build confidence in our protection services.

The agency based its organizational purpose on its core values which include Professional, Accountable, Consistent, and Engaged (P.A.C.E.).

“At the Delray Beach Police Department, being Professional, Accountable, Consistent, and Engaged isn’t just what we do — it’s who we are,” the post concluded. “Excellence is our standard, and we remain steadfast in upholding it each and every day as we move forward together in service to our community.”

The CFA award makes Delray Beach one of the few agencies in Florida which successfully completed the challenging assessment program to achieve accreditation.
