Tragedy struck in Oakland Park on Monday afternoon when a 14 year old boy, Jordan Dowdy was fatally stabbed. The call came in after 5 p.m.. A report of a stabbing near Northeast Third Avenue. Deputies from the Broward Sheriffs Office and Oakland Park Fire Rescue rushed to the scene. When they arrived they found Dowdy with stab wounds. He was quickly taken to a hospital. Sadly he didn’t survive. The Broward Sheriffs Office Homicide Unit launched an investigation. Later arrested a juvenile male in connection, with the stabbing.Detectives from the BSO Homicide Unit were called to the scene. Started looking into what happened. After going through the evidence they figured out that a 16 year old boy was the one who did the stabbing. The police caught up with the kid. Arrested him later that day. From what they found out far it seemed like the 16 year old had gotten into a fight, with Dowdy. They’d been arguing and things got physical. After the fight the kid stabbed Dowdy. The police took the suspect to the Juvenile Assessment Center to book him. Now hes facing a charge of first degree murder.
