The Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit apprehended Claurry Paul for the shooting of a 27 year old man at a tobacco shop in Pompano Beach after conducting thorough investigations that identified Paul as the primary suspect in the murder of Sayf Abdelaziz.BSOs V.I.P.E.R (Violence Intervention Proactive Enforcement Response) Unit worked alongside the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit to locate Paul at an apartment, in Atlanta on Monday and successfully took him into custody. Investigators reported that after midnight on March 30th Broward County Regional Communications got a call about a shooting in the 1200 block of E Sample Road, in Pompano Beach. Deputies headed to the Fire Up Smoke Shop and discovered Abdelaziz inside the establishment with a gunshot wound. Pompano Beach Fire Rescue arrived well but unfortunately the victim was declared dead at the scene. Detectives stated that Paul walked into the shop and went up to the counter holding a handgun. He shot Abdelaziz at one moment. Quickly ran away on foot thereafter. The reward for any details that could lead to an arrest in the murder was raised to $60k in April. Paul is charged with first degree murder using a firearm. Is set to be sent back, to Broward County.
