UPDATE

At approximately 2am, PBCFR units were dispatched to the 6000 block of Le Lac Road in northwestern Boca Raton for a fire alarm that was called in by an alarm monitoring company. Even before arrival, firefighters smelled smoke and upgraded the call to a full residential fire response.

Upon arrival, they found an approximate 12,000 square-foot, two-story residence with a large body of fire that was going through the roof. A second alarm was called immediately. Firefighters ensured there was no one in the residence.

It took just under 3 hours to declare the fire under control. PBCFR had 25 units and approximately 55 firefighters on the scene. The 911 dispatch center proactively moved units into the area to cover any additional emergency calls during this time. There were no reported injuries. PBCFR has its Fire Investigators still on-scene determining cause and origin.
