UPDATE: PBSO DUI Patrols Net 12 Arrests During Super Bowl Weekend Push

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Drivers in unincorporated Boca Raton and across Palm Beach County will see increased traffic enforcement this weekend as the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office ramps up DUI patrols during two scheduled saturation operations.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division is conducting a DUI Saturation Patrol on Friday, February 6, 2026, running from 10:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. A second saturation patrol is scheduled for Sunday, February 8, from 6 p.m. to midnight.

PBSO said deputies will be conducting high-visibility enforcement of traffic violations during the patrol windows, with an emphasis on identifying and removing impaired drivers from county roadways.

A DUI saturation patrol is a concentrated enforcement period where deputies increase stops and presence with the goal of catching impaired drivers and deterring risky behavior. For residents, that means more marked units on the road, more stops for moving violations, and less tolerance for driving that suggests impairment.

In practical terms, a saturation detail is not limited to one neighborhood or one corridor. Drivers can expect patrol activity throughout Palm Beach County during the listed hours, including major east-west routes, higher-traffic intersections, and areas where weekend nightlife and restaurant traffic tend to pick up. Boca Raton drivers should expect the same heightened enforcement posture within city limits and surrounding county roads during those time windows.

PBSO’s message is straightforward: if you plan to drink, don’t drive. The patrols are scheduled late Friday into early Saturday—one of the heavier windows for impaired driving—and again Sunday evening, when traffic can still be active with people returning from dinners, events, and weekend trips.

Deputies will be enforcing “all traffic violations,” according to PBSO, not just obvious signs of impaired driving. That includes speed, aggressive driving, failure to maintain lane, running lights or stop signs, and other violations that often prompt a stop and lead to further investigation.

Residents should plan for the possibility of longer drive times during the patrol hours, especially if traveling along major routes late Friday night or early Saturday morning. If you’re driving, keep your trip simple: buckle up, follow signals, and avoid distractions. If you’re going out, line up a ride before you leave—designated driver, rideshare, or a pickup plan that doesn’t involve getting behind the wheel after drinking.

For those who see dangerous driving during the patrol windows, the takeaway is not to engage. Give the vehicle space and, if needed, report it through the appropriate non-emergency channels.

This coverage is not an endorsement or a warning to evade enforcement. It is straightforward reporting on official actions that affect public safety, mobility, and accountability on local roads.
