Ernie Tirado Arrested

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — A West Palm  Beach man was arrested for real charges after pulling a fake gun out at a busy West Palm Beach intersection.

In a video that circulated social media, 20-year-old Ernie Tirado was seen waving a firearm around at Okeechobee Boulevard and Military Trail. Investigators say the incident happened at about 4 PM on Saturday, June 17th, 2023. Tirado, driving a black Honda CRV, was seen exiting his vehicle and waving a firearm around, yelling obscenities at a homeless person.

A PBSO detective, who observed the video on social media, says Tirado appeared to put the public in danger.

Detectives were able to identify Tirado as a possible suspect after looking up the license plate number found in the video. PBSO SWAT served a warrant at Tirado’s residence early on Friday, June 23rd, 2023. While detectives did locate a Tauraus 9MM handgun in the home, they don’t believe he used it in the video.

Deputies found a black Glock-style air soft handgun in Tirado’s vehicle. They say the toy gun fits the description of the weapon used in the video.

Tirado was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, displaying a Firearm during a Criminal Offense and Improper Display of a Dangerous weapon or Machine Gun.
