Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle at Military Trail and Purdy Lane

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A pedestrian has died following a traffic crash involving a pickup truck at the intersection of South Military Trail and Purdy Lane in West Palm Beach, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said the crash occurred at about 3:29 p.m. on Feb. 2, 2026. A 2017 Toyota Tacoma was traveling westbound on Purdy Lane while traversing South Military Trail with a green traffic control signal. At the same time, a pedestrian was traveling southbound across South Military Trail at Purdy Lane with a red traffic control signal.

According to investigators, the front of the pickup truck struck the left side of the pedestrian. During the crash, the pedestrian was ejected from a scooter and came to rest in the roadway. The driver brought the vehicle to a controlled final rest in a nearby parking lot.

The pedestrian was transported from the scene to St. Mary’s Medical Center by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, where he was reported to be in critical condition. Investigators later confirmed that the pedestrian succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision and was pronounced deceased at 3:03 p.m. on Feb. 6, 2026.

The crash remains under investigation by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. The lead investigator was identified as Anthony Tejeda.
